ProperPrompt is operated by Jadthena Limited t/a Clearpath Consulting, a company registered in the United Kingdom. This page explains, in plain English, what we do and do not do with your data.

Your prompts

• Prompts you submit are processed transiently: they are sent to our rewriting engine, the rewritten version is returned to you, and the free-tier prompt text is then discarded. We do not build a library of your prompts.
• Rewriting is carried out by third-party model providers — currently Anthropic for every rewrite, free and Pro. Your prompt text is passed to the provider serving your request, solely to produce the rewrite, and subject to that provider's own data handling terms. If we route free-tier traffic to another provider (for example Moonshot AI via OpenRouter, or Google), we will name it here first.
• Free tier, stated plainly: free rewrites currently run on Anthropic's paid API — the same as Pro — which does not train on submitted content. If we ever move free-tier traffic to a cheaper provider whose terms allow training on inputs (Google's free Gemini tier is one example), we will say so here in plain words before we do it. If a prompt is confidential, think before pasting it into any free AI tool — ours included. We would rather tell you this than let you assume otherwise.
• Do not paste secrets such as passwords, API keys, or other people's personal data into any prompt tool, including this one.

What we store

• Rate-limit counters: to enforce the free tier we keep a daily count against your IP address, the network block it sits in, and a random device identifier held in a cookie. The counters contain an identifier and a number, reset every day, and are used for nothing else.
• The device cookie: a first-party cookie named pp_did holding a random, signed identifier. It exists only to count free rewrites fairly. It is not shared, not sold, not used for advertising, and it identifies a browser rather than a person.
• Account email and passkey: if you create an account we store your email address and the public half of your passkey. We never hold a password, and a passkey cannot be reused anywhere else.
• Update emails: if you ask for product updates we store your email address and the time you signed up, and use it only to email you about ProperPrompt. Unsubscribe any time by replying to any email.
• Aggregate usage counters: we count page views, rewrites and signups as plain numbers, using our own self-hosted, cookieless page-view counter (Umami, at analytics.olijammedia.co.uk — our infrastructure, our database). It sets no cookies, fingerprints nobody, and sends nothing to any third party. No third-party analytics, no advertising trackers, no tracking cookies.

What we never do

• We never sell or rent your data to anyone.
• We never use third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site. The only measurement is our own self-hosted, cookieless counter described above.
• We never train any model on your prompts ourselves, and we never sell them to anyone who would. The one caveat is the free-tier provider named above, which is why it is named.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. We keep the email address and the licence record tied to your purchase so we can honour it.

The browser extension

The extension sends only the prompt text you explicitly ask it to rewrite, and only when you click the button. It does not read the pages you visit, does not run in the background, and stores your settings locally in your browser profile.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will action it promptly.
